Application instructions
ICMEC Awards and the Ceremony
Categories and age groups
Applicants must submit a link to YouTube video of their ensemble 's performance, entrance fee of $60 per person and completed application form by March 1, 2024.
Late application may be accepted by March 10 with a late fee of $90 per ensemble.
Please, enter Ensemble Name in the notes in the payment section.
The fee is non-refundable.

Categories and age groups
ICMEC is open to student and professional ensembles of all ages and nationalities. The following ensemble categories are accepted to compete within their respective age groups:
- Sonata Duo
- Piano Duo (four hand)
- Piano Ensemble (Trio, Quartet or Quintet)
- Ensemble with Winds
- Jazz or Folk Ensemble
- String Ensembles
- Vocal Chamber Groups
- Percussion ensemble
Age Groups
- Group I (Junior) Age 13 and Under
- Group II (Senior) Age 14 to 18
- Group III (Adult) Age 19 and older
The age group is determined by the oldest member of the group.

ICMEC Awards and the Ceremony
All final round participants will receive 2024 ICMEC Laureate Certificates and trophies.
2024 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals Winning Ensembles will be chosen by the jury from all finalists and will receive Laureate Certificates, medals and cash awards.
They also might be invited to perform in 2025-2026 Chamber Music Foundation Concert Series Concert Series.
The Award Ceremony will follow the 2024 ICMEC final competition round at Williams Hall of the New England Conservatory in Boston on April 7, 2024.
Selection process

Preliminary Round
Each competing chamber ensemble must submit a YouTube video of their audition piece.
Ensembles that pass the preliminary submission round will be invited to participate in The Semi Final Round live audition in Boston, MA on April 6, 2024
Semi Final Round
Participants will compete in their age groups. The best performing ensembles
of the Semi Finals will be invited to participate in the Final Round on April 7th.
This round is closed to public.
Final Round
The 2024 ICMEC final round will be held at Williams Hall of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston on April 7th.
The finalists will compete for the 2024 ICMEC Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals. This round is open to public and entrance is free of charge.
The decisions of the judges are final.
Repertoire
Repertoire
The repertoire for the recording for preliminary round must be a composition of one or few movements or a group of compositions not exceeding 15 minutes.
The repertoire for the Semi Final round of the ICMEC can be the same or different from the initial submission but has to be the same as the Final Round and cannot exceed 15 minutes.
